Engagements

Define the problems. Then build the solutions.

Every engagement starts with the people who use, support and depend on the existing systems, and your team stays involved through to the end so they understand, own and can evolve the result. Here is the work I take on, and the ways we can start.

Discovery

Working sessions with your teams, in person wherever possible, to find the problems that actually matter and the results the business depends on.

  • Time with the people closest to the work, watching the system in use
  • Root causes, not symptoms
  • Clear success measures before anything is built

Architecture and implementation

I start with your people, your existing systems and the problems to solve. Then I define the architecture and weigh the options: cloud or on-prem, AWS, GCP or Azure, Kafka, Temporal or AI integrations. The technology is chosen to fit the problem, not the other way around.

  • Architecture grounded in interviews, team capabilities and existing systems
  • Hands-on, full-stack delivery with deep experience in Java, Spring Boot, React and TypeScript
  • AI tooling used to accelerate the work where it helps, with results you can verify

Keeping projects on track

Projects stall for political, financial and technical reasons. I name what's in the way, whether or not it's technical, and find a path forward.

  • An honest read on what's gating progress
  • Options when an obstacle can't be moved
  • Teams aligned on the same goal

AI with guardrails

Use AI to accelerate delivery without lowering the bar: results that are verifiable, traceable to their source and aligned with the problem we're solving.

  • Practical guidelines for AI-assisted development
  • Verifiable, traceable AI-generated results
  • Private, controlled options for sensitive data

What you can expect

How every engagement runs.

  • Straight talk

If politics, budget, or technology is holding a project back, I'll say so, and bring options.

  • Small, safe steps

Working releases early, each with a way to roll back.

  • You own everything

Your code, your accounts, and your data. No lock-in.

Ways to work together

Start small. Grow from there.

Discovery

Working sessions with your teams that end in a clear problem statement and a recommendation.

Projects

Architecture and implementation, delivered in small steps you can review.

Advisory

Architecture reviews, or AI training for your team if you need it.

Technologies I build with most: Java, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud, Docker and Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Claude. However, the right tool is the one that fits your problem and your team.
